- Hemp needs 4x less water than cotton and absorbs 2x more co2 than average trees and industrial crops while not needing chemicals, pesticides or fertilisers. It's soft and anti slip yet durable, naturally anti bacterial and mould resistant.
- Tlejourne X Roi Sai Hemp
We partnered with a local non-profit that assists beachside communities here in southern Thailand to collect and recycle ocean debris found washed up on beaches. This material is then processed and reused for different purposes and in our case, forms the mid soles of our Islander's. Each one is unique in colour and composition!
- Natural Latex rubber for our outsoles is a sustainable choice because harvesting is mostly done by hand without using heavy machinery or chemicals unlike synthetic rubber production. It's biodegradable and fully recyclable while also being highly durable and abrasion resistant. You could say that "money does grows on trees" as the flexible material literally grows on trees in abundance all throughout Thailand including here on our home island of Koh Samui.
